Vintage 1974
High-quality recording of one of the best shows of this era, imho. My buddy keep telling me about Lexington, KY show from this year, but I've yet to hear it. First time I've listened to digital archive source for this show...went through a couple of versions hosted on archive tonight, and I think this one is the cleanest. I received this show on cassette in 1995, and it has been one of my favorites for going on 21 years. My analog source was from SBD>MR>LP>2nd gen, and it is warm, bouncy, with big round bass....this version is spot on. The mix is superb, and the band sounds so well balanced. Such a jazzy, bouncy, clean sound to 1974, and this show ranks up on top. Everyone pops and sounds on point. Sometimes wonder if it was the band, or the mix that makes this year so special....guessing a combo of both. Listened to a show from 82 today and Phil is no where to be found in the mix. Tinny and thin w/out Phil up front, but good show, nonetheless. Phil solo on Eyes in this one is one to turn up and let fly. Good confidence that this was a period LP release, or lp bootleg, which explains my source. Any history on that?

My first bootleg- 'stolen' from sis in the mid 80's, such a great sound and mellow feel to this whole show. Great rainy day, trapped in the house kind of show.

Whatever happened to the future? We should all be listening to music like this by now. Uncle John's, BTW, Scarlet B, TLMD, Playin', P&N, LL, P-O, Eyes, He's Gone>Ship... Oh god, more Scooby snacks, please!

DAMN!!!
Despite any complaints someone might have about parts of this show, this portion is top shelf ...
Eyes ->
China Doll ->
He's Gone ->
Truckin' ->
Drums ->
Caution Jam ->
Ship Of Fools
SOF is always sweet, but this one is borderline perfect. Like others have said, hang in there. It's worth it.

Takes Some Getting Used To
But eventually blows your mind.
Some dropouts & anomalies here & there. Never mind. Stick with it.
The "Phil and Ned" and...Jerry segment is a life-changing edge-you-experience! Then The ensuing songs have almost no vocals -- it's really like mostly instrumental and, as thus, it is karaoke time! For any Dead Head who wishes to sing out loud may do so now! It is divine.
What entails is spanking it type GD. "There's moisture in the microphones!"
Impeccable.
Once your ears adjust.
You suddenly realize what an incredible show this is.

You're Nuts
I don't see how anyone can rate this show five stars when the second set vocals are pratically non-existent. Musically, it's sweet, but technically it's sour. Pass on this if you happen to like listening to lyrics...

Outrageous
How is it that nobody has commented on the missing listing of the "Milkin' the Turkey or Stronger Than Dirt" out of Eyes and into China Doll? Freinds arrive from the coast tomorrow, so I'm glad I caught it today? Phil at the Fillmore and RedRocks next weekend. Again, outrageous!

Transcendental. Another 74 Stunner! The UJB opener is all business. I can only imagine what you would be in store for after experiencing that one for starters! I so savor having shows of this caliber @ my fingertips after all these years. Crystal clear soundboard. Incredible! Thanks for the uploads to all concerned---life altering acts of kindness!

A beauty of a show.
The sound does seem to be missing something in the midrange, but it isn't bad, and is better than some other shows (such as 9/20/74). I don't know which of the three versions here is the best.

F@#K yeah!
This is a solid show...crystal clear sound...great band chemistry. The boys are really tight on this night. I love everything I've ever heard from the Sept 1974 Europe run. This is another great one! The whole show is killer!
Bertha remix is fantastic!!!
